Product Name:
Masía el Altet Extra Virgin Olive Oil - High End
Description:

A mono variety the High End is made from a local variety called Picual. It is elegant and straightforward with a great personality. As a consequence it will enhance the flavours of all your dishes.

The Picual variety, also known as Marteño, Nevadillo or Lepreño is one of the most common and highly regarded varieties in Spain. The name ‘Picual’ derives from the small tip or ‘pico’ at the base of the fruit. The tree on which the Picual grows is very strong, it has short branches and is very resistant to frost. For that reason, it is perfect for cultivating in the mountainous area of Alicante where the cold is intense during the winter months, with heavy snowfalls. It is also very resistant to periods of drought.

This multiple award-winning olive oil is produced on the Petit family estate situated in the heart of the Sierra de Mariola and Font Roja Nature Reserves in the Alcoy mountains of Alicante province. Located more than 800 metres above sea level, the farm creates a special microclimate giving this extra virgin olive oil some unique and unmistakable characteristics.

Jorge Petit is certain that it takes an excellent olive oil to satisfy discerning palates - from olives that have been treated with love and care and are picked at the perfect moment of ripening. For Petit Sr. a key ‘ingredient’ is the passion shown by the Petit family in nurturing each and every one of the 14,000 olive trees on the Masía el Altet estate.
