Vanilla from Uganda often gets overshadowed by the traditional origins. But with the influx of new producers and experienced vanilla hands Ugandan vanilla is beginning to get noticed for its unique characteristics.
Uganda has two harvests annually; the beans are high in vanillin content and therefore preferred vanilla extract manufacturers. They have an incredible flavour and aroma profile.
The vanilla beans are quite supple with a dark appearance and are usually a bit heavier than Madagascan beans. The aroma is earthy with hints of milk chocolate, while the flavour is bold because of the high levels of vanillin.
